The Orfalea Children's Center Lab School, housed in the Family and Consumer Education Center (building J), provides quality care for infants and preschoolers between three months and five years of age. The center serves as the lab school for Early Childhood Studies students who assist the credentialed staff in providing an enriched learning environment designed to foster social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth for young children.
The philosophy of the program is to provide each child with the tools and the opportunity to be actively involved in the learning process, to experience a variety of developmentally appropriate activities and materials, and to pursue his/her own interests. As an integral part of the Early Childhood Studies program, the center provides a multicultural, anti-bias inclusion approach where children have the opportunity to experience differences in gender, race/ethnicity, abilities, learning styles, and individual needs.
The center is available to student parents en-rolled in nine or more units during fall and spring semesters, six or more units during summer session, and/or CalWORKs or Title V participants. Limited staff spaces are available. Applications from student parents taking less than the minimum units are accepted on a space-available basis. An orientation session is required prior to enrollment.

KinderKirk Preschool is a state licensed childcare center, serving families with children ages 2 years through entering Kindergarten. We are a Registered Demonstration Site of the Outdoor Classroom Network, which means that our children spend about 80% of their time outside (in all kinds of weather) learning through hands on activities. We provide a flexible and nurturing environment that enables children to take charge of their own learning and purse their interests. You will often find our teachers in the background, observing, asking questions and letting the children direct where the activity goes. That’s not so say the Teachers don’t teach…but they do so, to expand upon the knowledge the children gain from their discoveries and innate sense of wonder.
We believe Play is the utmost important vehicle for a child’s learning. We let Nature and Nurture be the methods in which children are taught. “The academics” are learned, through every day hands on activities rather than worksheets, flash cards and route methods.
We are a Mission of the Carpinteria Community Church which is loosely affiliated with the Presbyterian Church. Children attend a weekly Chapel service where they listen to a Bible story, sing songs and praise God. Children pray before meals and observe religious holidays but we also talk about secular holiday icons. We welcome all families, regardless of their faith.
The Mission of Kinderkirk Preschool is to provide a quality, nurturing, Christian Educational experience for all families, children and staff while we serve the Carpinteria community.

HOLFORD FAMILY CHILD CARE
Dear Parents,
I want to thank you for considering Holford's Lil Jungle Family Childcare and Preschool for your childcare needs. What I offer your family is much more than a baby sitting service. I offer a loving, safe and educational environment for your child to grow in. I understand how difficult it can be for working parents to balance all of their commitments and responsibilities in their lives. For this reason, I strive to offer a program that will enrich your child's development while putting your mind at ease. We believe that each child grows and develops in a sequential manner at his/her own pace. Each stage of development requires more complex behavior and thought process by the child. Children learn by interacting with observing, and experiencing the world of objects and people. Each child is curious and actively initiates their learning. Developmentally appropriate activities and routines are planned each day to offer each child many opportunities for challenge and success. Our "free-flow" based program offers opportunities for fostering independence, creativity and self-esteem. Children have the freedom to make choices in a safe and stimulating environment.
Sincerely,
Blanche Holford

LIFE'S LITTLE PRIORITIES
At Life's Little Priorities, I believe it is important that your child feels that this child care is the next best place to home and that you, the parent, share these same feelings.
I strive to provide a quality program in which your child has the opportunity for creativity, independence, and building self- confidence through daily planned routines. Routines are very important for the stability of a child and lets the child feel secure in his/her surroundings.
To most adults, it may look like we are playing all the time. We are! The best way for a child to learn in through play. If you think about it, the first real game we play is "Peek-a-Boo"! We learn in everything we do, each day there is a cause and an effect. So if you are worried that each time you arrive it seems that all your child does is play- they are, and we encourage it. I have lots of case studies and i will show you those that support this learning process as well as ideas, books and workshops I have attended and given.
Mt primary concern is to assist your child by teaching in areas of spiritual, mental, social and physical development. You should also know that we follow the basic Bible truths (The Ten Commandments) and pray before meals if the children choose to.

Perez Family Child Care
At Perez FCC we value and believe high self-esteem is a predictor of success later in life so we strive to provide opportunities for your child to develop and strengthen their self esteem through socialization activities and the developing of self-help skills. We believe that optimal learning takes place when children feel good about themselves. If the caregivers of the children nurture and provide children with an approach that every child is unique, competent, and valued children will be open to learning and experiencing new environments. We strongly believe learning happens organically through play as children explore their environment interacting with their peers and caregivers. Through high quality environments and interactions children can develop and increase old and new skills that will help them be successful. Learning is individualized to each child's developmental level and we implement Creative Curriculum along with CSEFEL Teaching Pyramid in our program.

SONRISAS CHILDCARE

Childhood is a unique and valuable stage of the human life cycle. I believe children are best understood and supported in the context of family, culture, community, and society. I recognize that children and adults achieve their full potential in the context of relationships that are based on trust and respect. I understand and love what I do!

The Reyes Family Child Care
Family child care in a “home like” setting is the best alternative there is for working parents. It provides a small secure environment for children during the most important time of their development. Family child care offers a home away from home, providing children with “siblings” of all ages, to play, socialize, and learn from. My goal in providing quality child care for your child is to provide…
• A safe environment
• A nurturing environment
• A learning environment… learning is not necessarily the ABC’s and 123’s, but is also the learning of values. The learning of honesty, respect, self–reliance, and potential, self-discipline, and moderation, the values of being; dependable, love, sensitivity to others, kindness, friendliness and fairness are the values of giving.

CENTER PROGRAMS
Early Childhood Care and Education Services serves families with young children in two centers at UCSB, the Orfalea Family Children’s Center (OFCC) on West Campus and the University Children’s Center (UCC) at the Student Resource Building on the main campus.
INFANT AND TODDLER PROGRAM:
The Infant/Toddler programs at OFCC and UCC serve children three months to three years, grouped by developmental age, in eight full day classrooms with some part time spaces available. The Infant Program philosophy emphasizes respect for the infant as an individual and encourages each infant to be an active participant in their interactions with other infants, caregivers and their family. In the Toddler classrooms, children have many opportunities to receive individual attention from their caregivers in a positive and nurturing manner. Toddlers enjoy daily activities that include sensory play, art activities, music, group times for stories and songs, manipulatives, and outside play with tricycles, climbing structures, playhouse, wagons, and push toys as well as planned activities.
PRESCHOOL PROGRAM: (OFCC only)
The Preschool provides full day and part time placements for children ages three to five years. This program provides a well-balanced curriculum with emphasis on children's social/emotional skills and developing sense of self as learner. The multi-age groupings encourage pro-social behavior and an enriched cognitive environment. This setting ensures that children's needs (intellectual, physical, emotional, social and creative) are appropriately met at a variety of levels. The curriculum includes many activities: science and nature (gardening, cooking, pet care, nature study), creative art activities and projects, dramatic play, sensory experiences, large muscle activities, early literacy activities, language arts activities, music, and math awareness through hands-on manipulation of objects in the environment. There is a special focus on self awareness and the appreciation of diversity within the classroom. Daily group times provide opportunities for sharing, music, and stories; families are encouraged to participate in the daily experiences.

Zarate FCC aka Lupita's Child Care
Me llamo Maria Guadalupe Camacho.
